Friday 09/28 – Time for you – How does Chemistry help routine building

Here are are a set of suggestions from an interesting article (1), a study on making use of our less lazy corticals (2) and seeing  Krav Maga Self-Defense for All People (3) as a potential source to improve balance and cognitive functions preventing the age decline effect :

  1. Add the new habit at the end or beginning of an installed routine and start small, imagine that you meditate in the morning, add 5 to 10 minutes of technical work and then expand for the double over the course of 4 to 6 weeks ( it will stick)
  2. When there is a period on the day that is or feels clumsy, add movement to it, you can use chairs stretches, although I prefer a simple sparring routine where the chair is the focal point and we can move around, in and out ( make sure the meeting room door is closed)
  3.  Use follow along routines or audios so that is really easy to do things
  4. Get judgment out of the way and focus on the doing – this means it is better to have 3 days done at 50% of your intensity then 1 day where you gave it all.

Next week October 18 is here and I’m making this month focused on the ground program –

1)you will learn how to fall, roll and get up,

2)plus what to do if you have an opponent on top of you either striking or choking

3) I’m considering Krav Maga a “hard discipline” as opposition a “soft discipline” like Tai-Chi so the study results should be applicable since the methods used in Karate, Judo, Aikido (Technical sessions, medium to a high intensity of movement practice, combat practice with light to full contact sparring) are comprehensive near.
