Training Krav Maga when you are over 40?

Are there Benefits because you are above 40 either for Men and Women? The next lines hope to dive into some explanation into this.

Training is a wise choice at any age, usually under certain conditions that our believes and science set up.

When you live a bit more to survive college and find a job, there are things that happen when the perspective changes, and that is simple since time and its effects do tend to appear post 40 ‘ in men and later in women.

Starting now is not being a late starter

When you choose a martial later in life your “age in training” starts from the beginning, you rediscover coordination, agility, balance and in an environment that challenges you to learn, adapt and rewire some of your mental aptitude.

Challenges

I’ve started as a kid, the challenges on the over 40, well they made me think everyday more on the need to have discipline, oriented practice and self-awareness. Any of these are seen differently when we are younger. There are many challenges to meet, when you start you’ll struggle with maintaining the routine, questioning some of the contact, that although given and used in small doses it is still a strange thing in our society that cleverly avoids confrontation in physical terms.

Solutions and Growth

It is ok soon you’ll learn to understand distance, timing and guards, be more aware of the body and the volume that can occupy so that you are safe. One of the appreciation aspects of Krav Maga is its curriculum and how it builds up and that means that your learning does not stop evolving from a set of “sentences” that keep adding other words to have more meanings, and that is something that post 40 is really a reality that comes into our eyes in its non black or white colors, but the many shades of grey.

Bottom line you keep learning

When it comes to decision making you are at this time more prepared, you seen more people, lived more years, had made more mistakes, that allows a better view on the others intents, with training you can supplement what you already have ( your set of behaviors) with others that are tested for situations where the words lost its meaning and we need to take action.

The effect of learning

This learning will also affect your health for the future, and that is because now future is no longer 5 years it is 30 more. Keeping the learning does seem to be a key to a successful relationship with time, It is one of the 3 factors to make time one of your allies.
